Data Protection Agreement

Purpose
This Data Protection Agreement describes the baseline commitments ApplySmooth follows when processing account, resume, job description, and product usage data for users of the service. It is intended to explain operational safeguards in plain language and does not replace a separately signed enterprise data processing agreement.
Processing scope
ApplySmooth processes personal data only as needed to provide account access, analyze resumes against job descriptions, generate user-requested rewrite suggestions, store saved runs, enforce product limits, support exports, and maintain service security. Users remain responsible for deciding what resume content and job descriptions they submit to the service.
Subprocessors
ApplySmooth relies on service providers to operate the product. Supabase provides database, authentication, and storage infrastructure. Anthropic provides AI model API services for resume analysis, rewrite suggestions, and related intelligence features. Microsoft Clarity provides privacy-masked, consent-based product analytics on public marketing pages only; it does not run on the signed-in application. Additional providers may support hosting, monitoring, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, or security operations when those services are configured.
Security commitments
ApplySmooth is designed to use authenticated access controls, encrypted network connections, row-level database protections where applicable, provider-managed infrastructure safeguards, and limited operational access to personal data. Resume AI features are designed around proof-gated rewriting so the product improves user-supplied experience without intentionally inventing unsupported claims.
Relationship to other terms
This page should be read together with the ApplySmooth Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this page and a separately signed agreement with ApplySmooth, the signed agreement controls for the covered customer relationship.
